Passionate About Inspiring Others

Kathy Remeika, M.A., MFT is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, adolescents, and families in Long Beach, California. Her counseling specialties include helping clients find solutions to relationship issues, family conflict, anxiety, depression, addictions, grief and loss, fears/phobias, trauma and PTSD.

Her approach to therapy is eclectic, utilizing a variety of treatment methods depending upon your goals and needs. This includes conventional therapies such as psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems, and existential models. She has received additional training in solution-focused therapy, substance abuse treatment, and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). She is a certified EMDR therapist and a supervisor for MFT interns.

  • 20 years of experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in a private practice setting

    • Long Beach, CA (2004-current)

  • Co-Founder of Soulistic Healing, LLC, developing programs focused on empowering people impacted by traumatic events​

    • Long Beach, CA (2018-2020)

  • Clinical Director, EMDR Certified Therapist, Supervisor for LMFT & LCSW Interns, and Administrator & Chairperson for the Governing Body for Joint Commission (at a community mental health treatment center, Partial Hospitalization and Intensive Outpatient Level of Care)

  • Marriage and Family Therapist Intern in a high school setting working with at risk youth

    • Crossroads High School in Van Nuys, CA (2002-2004)

  • Trained in substance abuse and addiction as an individual and group counselor at a non-profit chemical dependency treatment center

    • Do It Now Foundation in Los Angeles, CA (2000-2001)​

payment options

Payment options include self-pay, out-of-network PPOs, Victims of Crime, and ILWU - PMA Coastwise Indemnity Plans (Longshoremen). As a courtesy, we can call your insurance company and answer your questions as to which services are covered, number of sessions covered each year, deductibles, and direct cost of services to you.  We are also willing to bill your PPO plan for you to be reimbursed at the end of each month.  Remember, all insurance companies require a diagnosis for services to be reimbursed.
